Description
Origin
The La Motte Vin de Joie Rose is a blend of 71% Grenache, 19% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. The grapes are from different districts in the Western Cape. The Grenache comes from Riebeek Kasteel and Piekenierskloof while the Mourvedre comes from Franschhoek and the Syrah from Walker Bay.
The season was late due to a lingering winter and relative cool growing conditions – even until late November. A cool summer without any heat waves resulted in harvest starting 10 to 14 days later than usual. Only for the second time in twenty years, La Motte’s first grapes were harvested in February only. The Grenache for this Rose was harvested on 15 February and the Mourvedre and Syrah even later.

The palatte is polished and juicy on entry, with a refreshing acidity and a lovely lingering nectarine aftertaste.
